The market for solar and trades staff in Ireland
Domestic and commercial solar installations have grown rapidly, supported by SEAI grants and rising energy costs, and installers are competing for a limited pool of experienced electricians and installers. Many companies are now hiring from abroad, particularly from Spain, Portugal and Eastern Europe where solar experience is deep. We have direct experience placing candidates relocating to Ireland and can advise on qualification recognition, Safe Pass and what employers here expect.
How we recruit for technical roles
We check qualifications, cards and certificates before anyone reaches your shortlist, and we talk to candidates in detail about the systems and site conditions they have actually worked on. For relocating candidates we make sure they understand the role, the location and the cost of living before an interview is arranged, so you are not wasting time on people who will not follow through.
Frequently asked questions
Can you find installers with experience on commercial rooftop and ground-mount systems?
Yes. We ask specifically about system types, sizes and mounting systems worked on, and we can source from abroad where the Irish market is short.
Do you place candidates who are relocating to Ireland?
Yes. We have placed and are actively working with tradespeople moving to Ireland from Spain and elsewhere in Europe, and we support both sides through the process.
